WHAT WAS ONCE AN ABANDONED AND VANDALIZED OLD SCHOOL BUILDING….
Has now become a facility that is providing services for the entire community.

Greetings from the Cherry Valley Community Facilities Corporation (CVCFC). After years of fundraising and program development, CVCFC has realized many of its goals for the Cherry Valley Old School, once an abandoned and vandalized building. The new post office in the front of the building serves the community. The 7,000-square-foot Cherry Valley Children's Center is considered to be a model daycare facility. The Old School Café provides a venue for students of all ages to gather for music and poetry performances and art exhibits. The Senior Citizen Meal Program, which also takes place in the Café, is by far the most successful of its kind in the county. The Town and Village of Cherry Valley operate the Cherry Valley Community Center, centered in the renovated gymnasium, and offer a variety of recreational programs. The Village-sponsored Alden Park to the rear of the building provides a playground, playing fields, and a walking track. The Town and Village also uses the building for offices and meetings. The Old School, once a problem for the community, is now a solution. CVCFC continues in its efforts to renovate the rest of the building and to sponsor community events.
